Pfrei Vintage provides an authenticity guarantee on all items. All items are authenticated twice before sale to give our customers even extra peace of mind*.
All items purchased come with an authenticity card issued by Pfrei Vintage confirming the authenticity of the item and providing the date of manufacture (this will be the exact year or general era e.g. 1990s, 2004-2010, early 2000s etc).
*As of November 2024, all bags also undergo a second authentication via an online third-party authenticator (Authentic Detective or Legit Grails). This does not change the authenticity status of any bags sold before this time, and an added certificate from this third-party authenticator can be provided for any bags purchased at any time from Pfrei Vintage.
All items are authenticated in-house using our experience and expertise for vintage designer products spanning 10+ years. Each product is meticulously checked for details that indicate authenticity, including; the stitching, hardware, labels, fonts, logos, serial numbers, material and general quality. We only sell products we are confident in authenticating.
As the bags we sell are mostly vintage it is much easier to spot if they are inauthentic, as the fakes produced around these times are incredibly easier to spot. Any modern fakes of vintage bags are also very easy to spot as they possess particular qualities you do not find in vintage such as a newly manufactured smell - much like you get with cheap clothes manufactured for fast fashion.
All items we sell are personally hand-picked, therefore inventory is never overloaded. This allows us to pay close attention to analysing authenticity details, not allowing quality control to slip.
Serial numbers are provided on the listings for items that have one. In some cases, serial numbers can be searched online.
Due to items being between 10-40 years old, original authenticity cards and dust bags may have been discarded by the previous owners. This does not mean the item is fake.
